    Default CV Joint removal

Just wondering if the joint just slides off the driveshaft, or if it needs more than a gentle soft-faced hammerís worth of encourage to get it off? No circlips, pins to remove?

    Default CV Joint removal

Bit of a copout....I tried a few careful whacks with the soft faced hammer but the outer joint wasnít budging. As only the clip holding the boot on was damaged and it was still clean inside, I refilled the boot with grease and fitted the clip from the new boot kit. So I still donít know if you can get the joints come off without trashing them 🤔

The outer end of the driveshaft is not connected to the CV via a spline like a conventional system, instead the inner part of the CV joint that the balls run in is an integral part of the driveshaft itself. There is a big circlip in the outer part of the CV joint that holds it all together.
