    Default Handbrake adjustment

The hand brake operates like a ratchet. What can I do when the ratchet doesn't catch the sprawl in the handle?
The hand brake was 'On' when the engine was dropped. there was a sounding 'ping' now, the hand brake is free and doesn't catch the ratchet.
And adjustment? the bolt is not visible it's way down the, hole!

Buy new handbrake lever and remember to leave handbrake lever on off position next time you lower subframe.

Iíve always disconnected the ends of the cable from the lever mechanism before lowering the subframe. Is that not actually necessary? (Itís a fiddly job).

Ratchet mechanism is disengaged when lever is in down position. Then safe to lower subframe.

Took me a couple of seconds to get that I think the clown fish might be more appropriate though.

I didn't think anyone would. Well done.

Is the handbrake mechanism difficult to remove? The one on my ForTwo was pretty rusty when I rebuilt the engine, but I just wire brushed in situ it as best I could and drowned it in Dynax underbody wax. It works ok, just wondering whether it's worth taking off and cleaning it up properly and painting.
