Default Permanently disable ECO/MHD or repair!

    Hi all

For the last few days I have been driving only with ECO off and touch wood the car has driven fine with it off. For those that haven't seen my previous posts the car was going into neutral when driving, then not selecting gear, jumping & slack gear changes.

So it seems MHD is the culprit causing these issues. Question is:

    1. Do or can I disable the MHD/Eco permanently in case I forget to turn it on when I start the car as it comes on automatically. If so can this be done easily by myself or would I be best getting it into a garage?
    2. Does anyone recognise the fault or what it could be and how I can fix it?

    Thanks for reading

    PB

These things are generally only a delayed one-shot switch using a semiconductor (FET or Bipolar) to do nothing more than short the switch contacts momentarily shortly after ignition on.... which is why they still allow the physical switch to operate.
It's just what the 453 msterdotcom dongle version does.

If there's a switch, you can disable the 'feature'

Besides this brute force approach, you could always buy one of these which programs the car to default to off:
