Default Smart Media System & iPhone XR

Had a play with the Smart Media System this morning and successfully paired with my iPhone XR over Bluetooth.

However when I tried to playback music it wouldn’t play, does this mean my head unit is not compatible with my iPhone XR?

It’s ok my bad, the volume was turned down. Noticed this when I connected with an AUX cable and could still hear nothing.

I’ve noticed it doesn’t always play through the Smart media system when I click play, I thought it was because Spotify wasn’t getting a connection so I tried with the U2 album that came with my phone and that was a bit hit and miss.

If I fiddle about with it I can usually get it to work, does anyone know what might be happening here, is there some sort of delay?

EDIT: I don’t know just went down and started the engine and it seemed to be fine, had to open my window to get a signal for Spotify as I’m in an underground car park but the U2 album worked fine.

Went for a drive this morning, Spotify played fine through the head unit via Bluetooth didn't have to fiddle about with it, it just worked. Pleased.

Probably a delay in recognising & authenticating protocols with another link alternate media in the mchain, now it's done the appropriate handshakes it's sped up via an algorithm shortcut

I've just tried to connect a USB stick with some songs on it in folders with some .wpl playlists I created in windows media player but it just says "USB Detected" "No multimedia found"

The USB icon in menu settings is ghosted out, anyone have any idea what's wrong?
