Lightbulb Help with recommending a diagnostic fault reader (noobie)

    Hi,
I'd like to get a fault reader to be able to fix the little git when he decides to stop working (in London, middle of rush hour).

Would be great if you could point me in the right direction for a good brand.

    Many thanks

Don't know whether you have seen that page already?
Someone with more smart(s) experience than myself will doubtless be along to point you in the right direction, which model smart is it?
    Smart (450 city coupe 0.7 pulse) 2003 "vintage" 45KW / 61 HP (M160/1)
    E.V. Owner (Nissan leaf)
E-Bike rider (lots of fun with knackered knees)
    17 snowboards (ish)
    Bitter drinker (not bitter)
    Cheapskate, Skateboarder,
    Old enough to know better.

I have an iCarsoft i980 It'll talk to my Roadster, 451 & R Class. I can't say I'really had need to use it on either of the Smarts much other than when I had a problem with the Roadster's reluctor rings (long story ) It reset the airbag system on the R Class when I got the error message after replacing the battery (it's under the driver's seat so had to disconnect the seat loom before disconnecting the actual battery)
As there is a MBII the i980 is now a lot less to buy than when I bought mine.

How exactly is the cutting out scenario manifesting itself?
