Default That could have ended badly

Driver of a Fiat gets distracted using a mobile phone and rear ends a fortwo whilst the vehicle is being refuelled with petrol.

No shortage of them out there I'm afraid.

Weird that the Smart owner appeared to be looking at the approaching car but didn't react until impact.

What's really disturbing not just that he's messing with his phone before......... but immediately afterwards he can't resist pressing a button on it again !

Probably to turn it off so he hopes he doesn't get accused of using his phone whilst driving ....

What a ****, I would have ripped his head off

I thought that was a bit odd, obviously wasn't left in gear either.

Looks like the Fiat has an Italian plate; IME driving standards in Italy are considerably worse than the already dire standards in the UK.

Wife & I were remonstrating the fact that hardly anyone can change a tyre these days & how it ought be part of the test, (whilst passing a woman with a new range rover who had called out the breakdown folk to do it for her.... Doubt that range rover will ever cross a muddy field in anger!

..pales in comparison to what passes for driving in that clip.
