    Default Headlamp dipping direction?

Just been adjusting my headlamps and noticed there is a little arrow on each glass. The near side passenger one points left (to the near side), but the offside drivers one points right.

I thought they should both point left to indicate that they both dip to the left as expected of a normal right hand drive UK car to do? If thatís the case then I need to swap the drivers side one for a UK version?

    Thanks.

what's the beam pattern like? A UK dipped beam should normally have a kick up to the left & look something like \____ \____ when aimed at a wall\garage wall

It has a kick to the left. But full beam is a bit odd looking.

Full beam is often a bit odd. It's a compromise. The lensing is usually optimised more for dip, with the left kick-up, and it's difficult to get a really good high beam through the same optics. (I'm actually surprised they are as good as they usually are.)

So, anybody out there bored of Christmas TV, with a late model 450, do you have both headlamp arrows pointing to the left, or one each way? My guess is that they should point left for the UK.

After looking at a few Smarts, I can answer that...The offside/drivers side has the arrow pointing right, the near side/passenger side has the arrow pointing left. Thats on a UK car.

Maybe they are just "Property of HMG" markings.

(I did have a look at my 453 lights but couldn't see any arrows at all. They are probably a completely different design though.)
