    Default Heater blower removal

How on earth do you get the heater blower out?

I can barely see the thing under the dashboard let alone get the thing out.

    Experiences? Advice?

Get upside down in the passenger footwell. At the side of the motor nearest the rear of the car is a small clip that you have to pull backwards then twist the whole assembly anti clockwise. Pull it out and swing the back end upwards above the SAM. It will go far enough up for the fan to clear the housing and drop the fan down first.

It is easier if you undo the SAM (fuse box) and let it dangle but it will come out without doing that.

That is all from memory but there should be some instructions on FQ101 maybe.

    Very helpful, thanks

I tried getting upside down in the footwell, but after 15 seconds started to go dizzy

There are some irritatingly bad videos on YouTube about removal

Just search ‘smart car heater fan’

What a of a job that was, getting the blower in and out took an hour, cleaning the armature took 2 mins

As long as you didn't break the fan then all is good. They are very fragile those fans.
