    Default MB Star system recommendations?

I've had a Delphi 150e for a while. It worked (kind of), then packed up. So I bought another one which has yet to arrive. I've been putting off the inevitable since I started with this car - I really need a MB Star setup. I need get as much help as possible with my CANbus prolem (that's another story) plus I want to code a new key, enable cruise control and possibly a 'flappy paddle' steering wheel.

Has anybody bought from the obdstore.co.uk. In particular, got one of these, or similar?

Looks like it should do the trick. Any other suggestions? The price is a bit painful for instance. I have a 2005 450 Passion, 700cc (with only one key and a non-functioning cruise control and it cuts out every few miles, but other than that is great except it leaks oil and burns even more!).

I would not now buy a C3. I think they are now on C5 or C6. If you are absolutely sure that you only need it for your Smart car then go ahead but a C4 or C5 wil be much more useful and the software is a lot easier to install.

Buy a set with 'Developer mode' software.

My C3 is funny (self taught) it can do actuations but requests codes for special functions such as, adaptations. I assume you'll have to be online (while using) and purchase the license from Mercedes which can range from 24hours with costs increasing for 1 month to a yearly sub.

There’s a bloke in Luton that supplies MB Star kits and also provides support (remotely) who can set the software up for TAN free coding. Mine does that. You just envelope the feature and it is done. He would charge you for his time but could probably sort you out.
