    You only need to source old stock. Recently I acquired 5 litre of Castrol oil. Came in a sealed bottle. Only 22 years old.

    You would have to go way older than 1996, IIRC (old git here, failing memory) it was removed in 1973.

    Even if there were any given that the "tin" used to store it was of the British "oxygen enriched for extra rot capability" like the cars of the time, it would have leaked away long ago.

    Any disadvantage in 75w90?(apart from the lack of whale oil?)
    Maybe I should turn veggie and use sunflower oil with dolphin friendly tuna oil

    Used the same stuff in my ForTwo and wife's Roadster Coupe with no adverse effects.



    That said the Roadster has always had a faster, smoother shift than the ForTwo, despite several clutch and gearbox re-calibrations. Both cars have had new actuators and clutches so I assume that it's down to differences in the ECUs firmware/maps.
