Default ESP, ABS and handbrake Lights Constantly on! Please help.

    Hello All,

I have a 2006 Smart Roadster 452 with ESP, ABS and handbrake Light constantly on!

what i have done so far:

checked Sam unit, everything is ok, ive had to replace it as the last had water damage, however checked all fuses and internals, all ok.

checked if ESP switch was ok. (precaution).

all tyre's are ok and correct sizes.

I did have abs rings on rear axle cracked, changed them both, since i went through the trouble i changed the front also.

I checked all 4 wheel sensors with a multi meter, all showing around 1750, i was told between 1000 - 2000 ohms is ok.

Checked all wiring, including under carpet and dash for any bad connections.

    Ive replaced ABS Pump(borrowed).

i had an issue with my power steering, went to look for the power steering ecu, found out the previous owner or garage who touched it was an absolute idiot, the wiring was all messed up with bad connections. Ive also opened it and looked like water got into it, gave it a good clean with contact cleaner and tooth brush, put it all back together and power steering is alive again.

i was told it could be the ESP Sensor (under driver seat), haven't done anything yet in regards to it (thinking about buying another to replace it with).

since i had the carpet out, made it easy to get to the handbrake switch, tested and switch is fine. however handbrake light still remains on.

before i did everything, i plugged in OBD scan tool, had an error P0500 "Vehicle Speed Sensor A", plugged the scanner back in today, no more errors.

Im still stuck with the ABS, ESP and handbrake light constantly on.

Does anyone have any ideas? Do i changed the ESP Module?

Appreciate all the help i can get.

    Thank in Advance.

    Reis.

Have you checked the level in the brake fluid reservoir ?
If low, it will give the indicators that you have.

Check the float level switch then

You've also not mentioned brake pedal switch check?
Nor the Wheel clock spring and its adjustment?

Those three lights mean there is a problem with the angle sensor in the steering wheel.
It *might* just be in need of recalibration on STAR, but more likely you have a broken sensor - fairly common problem as they're uber-fragile and can get damaged by shockwaves if you hit a pothole for example.

BTW you will find more Roadster owners over at www.theroadster.net
