    Default 2009 model new colours

These are from the German smart site configurator. You can't tell what the 'real' colours are like but it gives an idea.

Hello to solid red and metallic grey, goodbye to solid yellow and metallic red. The red interior might be a different shade, the pictures look a lot more red and less of a weak orangey red colour, but the door pockets are nets now instead of solid plastic ones. Thats a new style of optional alloy wheel too.

The new red does look brighter in the site images, it's been described as 'fire engine red'. This is the metallic red on the UK site.

Shame they have dumped yellow and 'my' red, I like my red but I might be in the minority on that! As for a grey smart car instead of yellow, well thats just silly.

Just noticed your sills in your red. Where can I get them?

At Hambach we were told something like 2% of all new smarts were sold in yellow. That grey is nice - its not funky but it is nice.
